Biogenic therapies for infection and inflammation
We are isolating and characterizing extracellular vesicles from bacteria, human cells and plant cultures. Our group is interested in understanding their pathophysiological role during infection and inflammation, but also their applicability as vehicles for antimicrobial compounds and vaccines. We provide a broad tool-set of loading and functionalization techniques, such as incorporation of drugs and model compounds, and surface functionalization with various ligands. We also combine inherent vesicle characteristics with novel biomaterial development.
